ORNL holding “EERE Industry Day” September 23 and 24
When Oak Ridge National Laboratory announced in late June the postponement of its “Explore ORNL” event, it promised a larger and more exciting opportunity in September. Plans for that event, scheduled for September 23 and 24, are beginning to unfold.
David Danielson, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) at the U.S. Department of Energy, gave a sneak preview of the plans during last Friday’s roundtable hosted in Chattanooga by the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council.
Secretary Danielson will be one of the featured speakers for the event that is being billed as “EERE Industry Day.”
According to an email sent yesterday, This two-day event is designed to introduce new energy efficient innovations in buildings, transportation, and advanced manufacturing and facilitate public-private partnerships and collaboration that will enable these technologies to enter the market.”
Other speakers announced thus far include:
- Philip Enquist, Partner In Charge of Urban Design and Planning at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill;
- Jay Rogers, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder of Local Motors; and
- Venkat Venkatakrishnan, Lead Engineer for GE Appliances, FirstBuild.
