Nuclear power renaissance clearly centered in the Oak Ridge region

The latest publication to write about it is E&E News by Politico.

The article begins as follows:

“Nestled amid the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, this sprawling town of 33,000 was built from scratch to be the Manhattan Project’s headquarters. Now it’s primed to host the country’s nuclear power renaissance. “There’s a critical mass here,” said Alan Lowe, Executive Director of the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge.

The article was published recently in E&E News by Politico, one of a handful of publications under the Politico brand. Founded 25 years ago, E&E News dives into the ever-evolving landscape of energy and the environment to keep professionals informed, empowered, and a step ahead with original, compelling, and non-partisan journalism.

Lowe goes on to talk about “the 154 nuclear companies (that) call the area home, turning a birthplace of the Atomic Age into the incubation chamber for America’s potential nuclear revival.” He also cites organizations like the East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) as making a difference.
