Nth Cycle names a new Chief Technology Officer
Gabi Perlingeiro Knesel brings more than 15 years of global experience in mining operations, hydrometallurgical process innovation, and commercialization of industrial technologies.
Nth Cycle, the start-up that was in the 2018 cohort of the “Innovation Crossroads” program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has announced the appointment of Gabi Perlingeiro Knesel, Ph.D., as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). She brings more than 15 years of global experience in mining operations, hydrometallurgical process innovation, and commercialization of industrial technologies.
As CTO, Knesel will lead Nth Cycle’s engineering and technology development, execute the company’s roadmap to scale operations across new metals and markets, and oversee the testing facility at the company’s Burlington headquarters. She will also support Nth Cycle’s business and corporate development groups to ensure project execution and deployment.
“Nth Cycle is entering a period of significant growth as we continue to scale our refining capabilities to meet the urgent need for a domestic critical metal supply chain,” said Megan O’Connor, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nth Cycle. “Gabi’s deep expertise, from lab-scale innovation to broad industrial deployment and operations, makes her the ideal leader to help us continue to achieve our milestones and deliver long-term value to our partners, investors, and the country.”
Prior to joining Nth Cycle, Knesel served as Senior Vice President at Locus Fermentation Solutions, where she created and led the Mining and Metals business unit, providing processing and operational expertise to industry leaders, including top five global producers in copper, nickel, zinc, and others; and co-headed the development of biosurfactant-based solutions for metals extraction. Prior to Locus Fermentation, she held senior positions in global sales and business development at Ecolab.
Based in Boston but with a new 21,000-square foot refining facility in Fairfield, OH, Nth Cycle is an innovative critical metals extraction and recycling company.
