Early bird registration for the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council‘s annual “Opportunities in Energy” event end at 11:59 p.m. October 31. From Cookeville:

The Biz Foundry is holding its next “Find Your Funding” panel discussion from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. CDT on October 22 at its Cookeville office. A seven-person panel of finance and banking experts will answer  common questions and share their tips to help participants understand funding better.

“Whether you’re just starting or looking to grow your existing business, this event is perfect for you,” the announcement reads.

From Nashville but with Statewide Implications:

Launch Tennessee is inviting any university faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and undergraduates in the Volunteer State to attend a workshop on October 30 about the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

Titled “Navigating SBIR/STTR for Tennessee University Researchers,” the virtual event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. CDT. The workshop will cover:

  • SBIR/STTR eligibility rules;
  • Principal Investigator (PI) requirements;
  • Subcontracting rules and limitations;
  • University lab vs. small business facilities; and
  • Federal “Waste, Fraud, and Abuse” efforts.
