News & Notes | Episode of 9-1-1 Nashville to be filmed in Knoxville
TEAM TN will host its next event on November 7 at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Smyrna.
From Knoxville:
The Visit Knoxville Film Office has announced that 9-1-1: Nashville, a primetime television series that will air on ABC, will be filming this fall in Knoxville for one of its inaugural season episodes.
The inaugural episode of 9-1-1: Nashville premiered last week on October 9. It serves as the second spin-off of the 9-1-1 franchise, following 9-1-1: Lone Star, which concluded in February 2025. The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, with Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett also serving as Executive Producers. Set in Nashville, the series follows the lives of emergency responders—including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers—as they face life-threatening situations.
The Visit Knoxville Film Office promotes Knoxville and Knox County as a premier filming location. The Film Office supports local production companies with resources such as locations, permits, destination services, and any other needs to ensure smooth production. Since 2016, the Film Office has been actively recruiting feature films, and Knoxville has since been named to MovieMaker Magazine’s “Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker” five times.
“This is a really extraordinary time for the Visit Knoxville Film Office and for Knoxville itself, particularly as it relates to film in our destination,” said Kim Bumpas, President of Visit Knoxville. “November will be full of back-to-back excitement with not only hosting our third annual film festival, FILM FEST KNOX, but now with this filming taking place, we will continue to put Knoxville on the map for more production.”
From Chattanooga:
The Chattanoogan.com reports that Chattanooga 2.0 has been selected for a new initiative that will help seven communities across the country reach their economic mobility goals by expanding enrichment and career-focused opportunities for young people. Supported by The Wallace Foundation, the Advancing Opportunities for Adolescents initiative is a national effort that will explore how schools, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and other entities can deepen their collaboration with the afterschool, enrichment, and summer programs that comprise each community’s out-of-school sector.
The initiative also includes partnerships in Adams County and Broomfield County, CO; Akron, OH.; Poughkeepsie, NY; Monterey County, CA.; South Salt Lake City and Millcreek, UT.; and Wayne County, NY.
