New venture fund focused on keeping businesses locally-owned
Two professors at Western Michigan University are launching a new $50 million venture capital fund to offer opportunity to a new generation of business executives while keeping established businesses local.
The fund is focused on aging Baby Boomers who own a business and want to retire, but lack a succession plan. Fund organizers want to provide an option for those companies to remain locally owned.
