New training, workforce initiative announced with Huntsville, AL base
With the “Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit” ending later today, this announcement from the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining seems particularly timely.
The organization has created a new Limited Liability Company named the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Integration Center (AMIIC) that will be based in Huntsville, AL and offer training and workforce development programs in addition to being a demonstration facility.
AMIIC will be led by NCDMM in collaboration with its founding partners that include the University of Alabama in Huntsville, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Huntsville City Schools, Intuitive Research and Technology, Auburn University, Calhoun Community College, J.F. Drake University, and The University of Alabama.
