New partnership to spur additional growth at Winston-Salem’s Innovation Quarter

Sparq is a newly announced collaborative initiative in Winston-Salem, NC that will will serve as a “front door” to the community’s Innovation Quarter (IQ) or innovation district.

According to this article from WRAL TechWire, the IQ is home to universities like Wake Forest Health Sciences, organizations and companies working together to forward innovation. But the next step is to introduce entrepreneurs to all of the rich resources of IQ. Sparq will do so by helping entrepreneurs and small businesses owners to connect to all of the resources of Wake Forest and four other universities that have a presence in the IQ as well as companies housed there.

Raleigh Founded’s economic development initiative Founded Communities, Wake Forest School of Medicine, and Wexford are joining together to further advance the IQ with two main focus areas: activation of the Innovation Quarter and health tech. There are already 90 companies and 3,600 people working there.
