New entrepreneurial group launches in Anderson County

There’s a new entrepreneurially-focused organization in Anderson County that will hold its second meeting later this month.

With support from Ts117 Co-Working in Oak Ridge, the new group is named Founders Mark and is led by Walter Lounsbery. The next meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. January 23 at the Ts117 facility, 701 Scarboro Road in Oak Ridge. Food will be provided, and there is no charge, but individuals planning to attend are asked to register here.

“Founders Mark is dedicated to sharing business experience and knowledge, for mutual success and a better community,” Lounsbery explained. “Whatever your business area or background, we all share common challenges in an overwhelming number of areas. Come to a meeting and discover how other business leaders cope with those challenges.”

He told us in an email exchange over the holidays that he had been thinking about putting together a start-up business group for Anderson County since joining Entrepreneurs of Knoxville more than a decade ago.

“Our goal is to foster a stronger business community in Anderson County by sharing personal experience and knowledge with business,” Lounsbery says. “Our special mission is to promote success in start-up businesses.”

While that’s the initial goal, he expects it to evolve as others join the organization that had its inaugural meeting in December. For now, meetings are planned on a monthly basis.

Lounsbery also gives credit to Rick Chinn and the Ts117 team for their support.
