NC State wins first two of nine COVID-19 awards under NIIMBL initiative
Two of the nine projects funded by the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmacueticals (NIIMBL) to help address the COVID-19 pandemic have gone to North Carolina State University (NCSU).
NIIMBL allocated approximately $8.9 million from a grant it received from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to the support the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was part of NIST’s allocation under the “Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.”
The two NCSU-funded projects involve designing a test it supply chain and producing more N95 and surgical masks. Click here to see a list of all nine award recipients.
