Nashville Entrepreneur Center names new CEO

Serial entrepreneur Sam Davidson will succeed Jane Allen who was selected in 2019.

The Nashville Business Journal (NBJ) reports that the board of directors of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center voted unanimously Wednesday to hire Sam Davidson as the organization’s fifth Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Co-Founder of Batch Nashville LLC, now known as Batch Gifts LLC after an acquisition and recapitalization, will become the fifth leader of the 13-year old organization, succeeding Jane Allen who announced her plans to stepdown several months ago. His first day is July 10. According to the NBJ article, Davidson was a candidate in 2019 when Allen was selected.

As described on the new CEO’s LinkedIn site, Batch began when three friends wondered if they could merge the iconic products and tastes of their city – Nashville – with the emerging eCommerce trend of subscription boxes. The short answer? Yes. Yes they could. Now, Batch provides gifts online for individuals and companies who want to discover or share their favorite products and makers from iconic Southern cities.

The NBJ article said that the search began with 180 names that were narrowed to 10 and ultimately three finalists.
