Mt. Pleasant named home to Recticel Group’s first U.S. insulated panels facility

Recticel Group's U.S. facility will create nearly 80 jobs and invest almost $50 million throughout Maury County.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter, and Recticel Group officials shared the news from Nashville on Feb. 24.

A Global Leader Expands into Tennessee

Recticel Group, a Belgium-based insulation company, specializes in solutions designed for a carbon-free economy and evolving energy trends. Their new U.S. facility will be located at the Cherry Glen Industrial Park, a Select Tennessee Certified Site.

The project is expected to create 78 new jobs and bring $49.6 million in investment to the local economy. The site will produce insulated panels for Recticel’s U.S. market, known as Trimo North America.

“Launching Trimo North America marks an exciting new chapter in our global growth strategy,” said Jan Vergote, CEO of Recticel Group. “Our new Tennessee facility will manufacture high-quality insulated panels for a wide range of applications, including warehouses, gymnasiums, schools, industrial facilities, and retail spaces. We look forward to becoming an active part of Tennessee’s dynamic and welcoming business community.”

Strategic International Investment

While a Belgian company may seem unexpected, it is a deliberate part of TNECD’s long-term strategy. Belgian companies have created more than 840 jobs and invested nearly $245 million in Tennessee through foreign direct investment (FDI).

These FDI initiatives align with TNECD’s mission to “serve the world.” By expanding its international footprint, Tennessee remains an active player in the global economy, promoting exports and working to recruit and retain international businesses and quality jobs.

“Since Gov. Lee took office, foreign direct investment has accounted for nearly a quarter of all projects, and in 2025 alone, nearly 70% of our landed projects were the result of international investment,” said McWhorter. “I’m proud of the business-friendly environment we’ve cultivated that attracts businesses from around the globe, and I look forward to seeing how Recticel strengthens that ecosystem from its Mt. Pleasant operations.”

Local Impact

Not only will this facility boost the lives of Maury County and surrounding residents with the new job creation and economic inflow, but it also helps further establish Tennessee as a place for historic economic development wins.

“Tennessee is leading the nation as the best place to do business, thanks to our skilled workforce and quality of life,” Lee said. “Recticel’s decision to open its first insulated panels facility here demonstrates the confidence international companies have in our state and will create even greater opportunity for the families across Southern Middle Tennessee.”
