More than $400,000 available in April pitch competition

Here’s a mega-pitch competition that you might want to consider. After all, there’s more than $400,000 in investment capital earmarked for the winner, and the deadline to apply is more than a month off – December 20, to be exact.

The event is the “eMerge Americas 2023 Startup Showcase” that is teaming-up with two well-known investors in new enterprises. One is Panoramic Ventures and its “Startup Showdown,” which just awarded $120,000 in a competition during the “3686 Festival” in late September in Nashville. The other is Florida Funders, the most active venture capital firm in the Sunshine State.

One hundred of the best start-ups in three categories globally will be selected through a competitive application process. Those categories are called stages and include university start-ups, early stage companies, and later stage enterprises. The 100 companies will participate in a robust multi-week, virtual program, which will culminate at an in-person, grand finale pitch competition. This competition will take place next April 20 and 21 during the “eMerge Americas Global Tech Conference” attended by leading venture capitalists, corporate enterprises, government officials, global media outlets, and guest judges.

If you haven’t heard of eMerge Americas, the organization describes itself as focused on “transforming Miami into the tech hub of the Americas by partnering with the entire tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem, from government to higher-ed, start-ups to investors, corporate enterprises to media. We’re connecting the dots – between talent, capital and entrepreneurs. And we’re telling – and amplifying – the stories of how Miami is transforming. We’re attracting the best and the brightest from around the world to come to Miami to launch, build, and successfully scale their ideas. We believe Miami can serve as a gateway to the Americas and help bridge divides while fueling innovation and building out a sustainable, diverse and inclusive ecosystem.”

More information and a link to the application can be found here.
