Mercedes-Benz USA to relocate corporate headquarters to Atlanta
For those who follow the automotive industry, this previously rumored and now official announcement by Mercedes-Benz USA to relocate its corporate headquarters to Atlanta further underscores the South as the emerging automotive industry epicenter in the U.S. Since Nissan opened its first plant in Tennessee more than 30 years ago, the region has seen great growth in this sector. Tennessee once again led the region when Nissan relocated its corporate headquarters from California to the Volunteer State. And, more recently, Volkswagen announced plans to open a National Research & Development and Planning Center in Chattanooga. For those interested in innovation and technology, yesterday’s announcement is more good news for the South.
