Knoxville ranks #8 in country as best place for freelancers

If you are a freelancer, Knoxville is one of the best cities to call home. That’s according to a report just issued by ToolTester, an eCommerce website builder.

Knoxville placed #8 on the list based on factors such as tax rates, working space costs, and travel links. Dallas topped the list at #1 followed by Jacksonville (#2), Houston (#3), Memphis (#4), and Indianapolis (#5). Knoxville was just behind Kansas City (#6) and Salt Lake City (#7) and ahead of cities like Denver, Durham, Charlotte and Raleigh.

Eight of the top 10 worst cities for freelancers were in California with Torrance and Berkeley ranked #1 and #2 respectively. Interesting, Huntsville, AL placed #11 on the worst cities listing.
