Knoxville Chapter of EO hosting event on the Slingshot Framework

The Knoxville Chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization is planning a special event on August 28, according to Chapter President Brandon Bruce. It’s an evening with Gabor George Burt, one of the original experts in Blue Ocean Strategy.

“I remember reading Blue Ocean Strategy over 10 years ago,” says Bruce, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Cirrus Insight. “It was a breakthrough book for anybody interested in ‘go-to-market strategy’ and growing a business.”

Now, Burt is promoting something called the Slingshot Framework for redrawing market boundaries and embracing the Innovation Shortcut.

“As children, our imagination knew no boundaries,” he says on a promotional webpage for the book appropriately named Slingshot. “We would grab a slingshot and be instantly transformed into a warrior, a spy, a huntress, or protector of treasure. But as we grew older, our intellectual comfort zone shifted from that of continuous exploration and inquisitiveness to that of conformity with accepted norms of perception. All is not lost, however. We just need the right framework to re-engage our youthful creativity and re-imagine boundaries.”

Bruce says the two-hour event should be of interest to any business owner looking to take a company to the next level. Non-EO members can attend the program that runs from 4 to 6 p.m. at Pinnacle Financial Partners, 1111 Northshore Drive. The cost is $25 per person. To register, click here.
