Knoxville Chamber selects head of Round Rock counterpart as its new President and CEO
The Knoxville Chamber’s lengthy search for a successor to Mike Edwards has ended with yesterday’s announcement that Mike Odom, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Round Rock, TX Chamber, will assume the same role here.
According to Terry Turner, Knoxville Chamber Chair, more than 100 individuals expressed interest during the nationwide search. “The selection committee entered this process with a single goal – to identify the person best suited to lead the Knoxville Chamber and our regional community into its next phase of growth,” Turner said. “Mike’s resume of success in organizational management, economic growth and community partnership brings a fresh perspective to the Chamber’s mission of driving regional economic prosperity.”
Edwards had served as President and CEO for 16 years. Odom joined the Round Rock Chamber in 2014 after a series of positions in Louisiana. Here’s a Q&A with Odom that the Round Rock Chamber posted in January.
