Inaugural “Pitches and Pints” set for next week in Johnson City

pitches-and-pintsWe really like the sound of this event, at least in part because of the name: “Pitches and Pints.” It’s set for next Thursday, October 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at VENUE at the King’s Centre, 300 East Main Street, Johnson City.

“We hope to bring the talented start-up community in East Tennessee together,” Arnab Chakraborty told us. He’s the Co-Founder, Chair and Chief Product Officer of Flow Medtech.

Up to 10 local start-ups will be selected by a group of judges to make pitches in a competition for a cash prize during the two-hour event.

“We plan on this pitch competition to be the first of many networking events to grow and strengthen the start-up and small business community in our area,” Chakraborty added. The effort is supported by Baker Donelson, Funding Sage, SGSC Inc., Synaptian, AccelNow, Holston Business Development Center, Summit Leadership, Tennessee Small Business Development Center, Innovation Lab at East Tennessee State University, Innovation Forge, and Spark Plaza.
