Hybrid entrepreneurs have some good examples to follow

Not quitting a 9-to-5 job while also working on a new venture provides amazing freedom.

Are you a hybrid entrepreneur? If so, you are in pretty good company if your start-up takes off.

A recent post from the World Economic Forum notes that Steve Wozniak (Apple), Henry Ford (Ford Motor Company), and Sarah Blakely (Spanx) built some of the most successful businesses of all time while working a 9 to 5 job.

Written by Patricia Russ, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ovini Berlin, the author suggests that “one obvious reason to work nights and weekends to build a business is that hybrid entrepreneurship hedges the risk of the start-up failing and leaves entrepreneurs with steady jobs to fall back on. I argue, however, that hybrid entrepreneurship goes way beyond that: working on a venture on top of a corporate career provides amazing freedom.”

Russ then outlines the five freedoms that come with building a venture while employed and why entrepreneurs should consider doing the same. Click here to learn the five.
