Hubrig shares thoughts from “New England Venture Summit”
We noted in a post last Monday that Knoxville’s Innovasan would be a participant at the December 10 “New England Venture Summit” in Boston. We asked Jeff Hubrig Jr., Manager of Business Development, for his thoughts on the event. Here’s what he shared with us.
“Our trip was successful on all fronts. It wasn’t a formal competition in the same sense that the ‘Venture Forum’ or ‘Will This Float’ are. It was an opportunity for a large number of companies (90 selected out of >300 applications is what we were told) to pitch their ideas to a diverse investor audience and network with other companies. The companies were split up for the pitches and presented with others in their respective sectors. Companies ranged from seed stage to growth stage and came from all over the globe. The event was well attended by institutional investors and individual angels. Large venture firms such as Artiman had managing partners present. Our pitch was extremely well received; we made a lot of connections and received a great deal of interest from venture firms and angel groups. We are involved in follow-up conversations and are excited to continue building these relationships with the great people we’ve met.”
