Horsehoe at the Hub described as RTP’s “brain magnet”

It is described as “a new downtown for RTP,” the part of North Carolina known officially as Research Triangle Park (RTP).

Officially known as The Hub, it is a $1.5 billion, 100-acre development project that will feature two million square feet of office, residential, retail, and hotel space as well as 14 acres of green space. And, in a ceremony last week, a major component of the facility – Horseshoe at the Hub – celebrated groundbreaking for the 125,000 square feet of office and retail space.

That space, dubbed “our brain magnet” by RTP’s Development Committee Chair, was funded by a contribution of $20 million from Durham County, $10 million from RTP companies, and $50 million from RTP itself.

In an article that was published by WRAL TechWire, Jack Cecil, Development Committee Chair, was quoted as saying, “It will be our attraction for more talent in this part of the state and the Triangle. It’s people, it’s art, it’s culture. That’s what attracts brains. Because we can work all the time, but we need another way to exercise and energize our bodies and our minds.”
