Goodwill Industries-Knoxville offering Google IT Support Professional Certificate Program
Goodwill Industries – Knoxville is now offering Google’s IT Support Professional Certificate Program to residents of East Tennessee, and it will be free to certain participants.
The five-course program can be completed in six to eight months with a minimum of an eight-hour commitment per week from attendees. Goodwill Industries provides the instruction virtually and also helps participants with job placement options when the certificate is achieved.
For those who qualify for a scholarship, there is no cost. According to Goodwill Industries, requirements to receive the scholarship include: (1) being 18 years of age or older; (2) residing in a household with an income under 200 percent of the federal poverty level (single person less than $25,520); (3) having a high school diploma or equivalency or be in process of obtaining it, but also not having a four-year degree from a U.S. college; and (5) achieving English language, reading and mathematics scores at a ninth grade level.
