Fund Tennessee holding launch event for Tri-Star Angels Program
The regional event will be September 18 at Chesapeake's Restaurant & Event Center (West).
Fund Tennessee is offering a new initiative named the Tri-Star Angels Program (TAP), and those who are participants will have access to Angel University in partnership with the Angel Capital Association (ACA).
Part of the Volunteer State’s overall plan to use its $117 million allocation under the federally-funded “State Small Business Credit Initiative” in ways that increase access to capital, representatives will make a stop next week in Knoxville to explain the program and sign-up individuals interested in completing the courses to improve their knowledge about angel investing.
The regional session will be held starting at 3 p.m. EDT September 18 at Chesapeake’s Restaurant & Event Center (West), 9630 Parkside Lane. To register, click here.
There are six basic courses and four advanced courses (click here to see the 10 offerings). TAP participants will learn from experienced angels who are subject matter experts on the topics they present. They share cutting-edge insights, practical tips, and lessons learned for early stage investors. TAP partners with Regional Entrepreneur Centers, co-working spaces, and other entrepreneur support organizations to align the needs of angels, entrepreneurs, and the startup community.
To be considered for the Tri-Star Angels Program, applicants must:
- Reside in Tennessee;
- Apply for acceptance into a training cohort (application is available at this link);
- Identify as a current or future small business owner, entrepreneur, or investor; and
- Commit to completing the required Angel Capital Association courses.
Participants who receive the Basic Angel Investing Certification will be eligible to complete the Advanced Angel Investing Certification.
