‘From Lab to Launch’ kicks-off next week

It is a roadshow series designed to educate students, post-docs, and faculty about lessons in entrepreneurship from life science experts ahead of the Fall Scipreneur Challenge.

BioTN, in partnership with research institutions across the state, will be launching the ‘From Lab to Launch’ roadshow series next week to educate students, post-docs, and faculty about lessons in entrepreneurship from life science experts.

Unlike many occasions when schedules begin in East Tennessee, this one starts in Memphis at the University of Tennessee (UT) Health Science Center and later at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on August 13 before moving to Vanderbilt University in Nashville on August 15. Four sessions are scheduled the following week: two on August 21 – one at Oak Ridge, the other at UT, Knoxville – and two on August 22 – one at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City and the final one at Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville.

The ‘From Lab to Launch’ roadshows will be a premier opportunity for entrepreneurial-minded students and post-docs to learn from seasoned life science entrepreneurs about how make an idea into a business. The program will feature discussions from founders and start-up leaders about the technology and how the idea of their businesses came about.

In addition, there will be a discussion about BioTN’s the upcoming Fall Scipreneur Challenge, a program where graduate students and post docs learn the commercialization process using real technology.
