(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following release was provided by Chattanooga-based FourBridges Capital Advisors.)

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. and NEW YORK, New York (February 27, 2013) – FourBridges Capital Advisors and Lackner Capital Advisors today announced plans to enter into an affiliation agreement. FourBridges Capital Advisors is a middle-market investment bank serving clients in a wide range of industries throughout the Southeast. Lackner Capital founder Frank Lackner is a veteran insurance investment banker and entrepreneur.

“FourBridges’ investment banking advice is grounded in extensive transaction and operating experience, and our clients appreciate that,” said Managing Director Andy Stockett. “As we grow, we have been seeking opportunities to collaborate with talented bankers who can offer clients the same combination of resources. Lackner Capital is a natural fit.”

After beginning his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Centre Reinsurance, Frank Lackner was a vice president with Insurance Partners, a private equity group specializing in insurance, reinsurance and healthcare. From 1998 to 2001, he was founder and CEO of RiskContinuum, Inc., a reinsurance trading exchange. Since 2001, he has been an investment banker with several boutique firms serving the insurance industry. Lackner is also a former director of American Safety Insurance Holdings, Ltd. (NYSE: ASI) and a current director of Greenlight Capital Re, Ltd. (NASDAQ: GLRE).

“The partners at FourBridges bring a unique perspective to the investment banking world. They have an accessible approach to business and a roll-up-your-sleeves style that I respect,” Lackner said. “Together, we can add value for clients of both FourBridges and Lackner Capital.”

The affiliation with Lackner Capital, which will offer securities and investment banking services through FourBridges Capital Advisors, is part of the aggressive growth strategy FourBridges has implemented. As part of this plan, Frank Williamson, Unum’s former Chief Investment Officer, joined FourBridges in December and Charlie Brock, CEO of LaunchTN, became Chairman of its Board of Directors in January.

“FourBridges has always been focused on helping owners, entrepreneurs and companies of all sizes achieve their financial and strategic objectives,” Stockett said. “Together with Frank Lackner, we will be able to serve the specialized needs of companies in the insurance industry, bringing them the same mix of executive and deal experience that has characterized FourBridges from the start.”
