FoundersForge schedules three Work for Yourself@50+ workshops

Utilizing the AARP Foundation program, attendees will be provided guidance on various forms of self-employment.

FoundersForge has announced the dates for three workshops focused on empowering older adults to create their own businesses or explore self-employment opportunities. It is part of the organization’s partnership with the AARP Foundation.

The Work for Yourself@50+ program provides comprehensive guidance on various forms of self-employment, including contracting, freelancing, micro-business, and social enterprise. The program’s free interactive workshops offer attendees the chance to: (1) develop a comprehensive business plan; (2) create error-free financials; (3) receive personalized one-on-one coaching; and (4) learn about additional business resources available in the region.

The two-hour sessions will be held as follows:

  • December 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. EST at the Johnson City Chamber;
  • January 9, also from 2 to 4 p.m. EST at Create Appalachia in Kingsport; and
  • January 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce.
