Former Chattanooga start-up raises $14 million Series A round

Good news for Rachel McCrickard, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Motivo, a start-up founded in Chattanooga in 2017 and now growing in Atlanta.

Atlanta Inno reports that the virtual clinical supervision company has raised a $14 million Series A round led by Cox Enterprises with SteelSky Ventures and Great Oaks Venture Capital participating. The news follows less than three years after Motivo raised $2.2 million in a seed round, also le by Cox Enterprises, with participation by Chattanooga’s The Jump Fund, Techstars, SEI Ventures, ECMC, Great Oaks VC, Emmett Partners and Next Wave Impact Fund.

McCrickard is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist turned entrepreneur who participated in CO.LAB’s “CO.STARTERS” and Accelerator programs in 2017, then its 2018 cohort. As she told us in this March 2018 teknovation.biz article, Motivo was launched to assist those who are seeking to meet state licensure requirements as a therapist, counselor, social worker or psychologist by connecting them to a clinical supervisor.
