Finalists for annual “Venture Forum” during “LSTCON” announced

Three Nashville companies and two from Memphis have been selected as finalists for this year’s “Venture Forum” that concludes the formal programming at the 2022 edition of “LSTCON,” the annual meeting of Life Science Tennessee.

The five will be competing on the afternoon of March 22 for a $10,000 cash prize offered by the Waller law firm and a $1,000 “People’s Choice Award” provided by the University of Tennessee Research Foundation.

The five finalists are:

  • Augment Health, a Memphis-based medical device company empowering people to achieve their maximum health, dignity, and independence. Their technology helps patients with neurological conditions monitor and manage the health of their bladders while eliminating the usage of urine bags.
  • Hera Health Solutions, also from Memphis, that is a pharmaceutical device company specializing in the research, development, and commercialization of long-acting treatments through proprietary bio erodible delivery implants.
  • Limuless LLC, a Nashville-based biotechnology company that is developing a drop-in, recombinant substitute for the Limulus Amoebocyte Lysate (LAL) assay, which will supply the pharmaceutical industry with the necessary tools to sustainable safeguard humanity’s supply of medicines from bacterial contamination.
  • Utilize Health of Nashville, a digital health company that manages health plans, provider systems and self-funded employers with a specialized care management program for their members with complex neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
  • Yaya Scientific, a medical device company located in Nashville, that is using a patented combination of polarized light (PoL) and diffuse reflectance imaging (DRIm) which provides surgeons unparalleled resolution and detection to prevent accidental nerve injury surgical mistakes.
