FFD releases update on its Sequence software

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following release was provided by FFD, Inc.)

KNOXVILLE – FFD, Inc. has released Sequence Enterprise Work Instruction Software V3.0 that securely validates and captures information about how products are assembled, as well as documents and manages on-the-fly correction of assembly issues on the shop floor.

The new version allows digital Kaizen events with integrated images using the iPad2, helps manufacturers meet requirements for 21 CFR Part 11 electronic signatures and manages electronic shop floor redlines, non-conformances and rework work-orders.

Electronic Kaizen for Work Instructions

SequenceV3.0 functionality allows digital Kaizen events to be conducted on the shop floor using WebSequence running on an iPad2 with an integrated camera.

“The ability to instantly capture information with integrated digital images during Kaizen events closes the loop between the shop floor and engineering,” says FFD President and CEO Barry Lucas. “This will radically change the way Kaizen events are conducted.”

21 CFR Part 11

The new release helps medical device manufacturers with their overall FDA CFR Part 11 validated manufacturing processes. The software’s electronic signature functionality helps FDA regulated companies manage device history records. This release includes beefed up password control as well as robust authentication when modifying records through work instruction administration and shop floor interfaces.

Red-Lines and Rework on the Shop Floor

SequenceV3.0 also includes new tools to help manufacturers address problems on the shop floor. FFD incorporated input from manufacturing engineers to offer a rigorous, version-controlled electronic deployment scheme for managing redlines, non-conformances and rework work-orders on the shop floor.

“Sequence has always been an exceptional tool for knowledge capture and directing work on the shop floor when things work right,” Lucas says. “However, re-work, redlines and non-conformances are realities addressed by the new version of Sequence that will give our customers a big competitive edge.”
