
Fast-growing Gale Healthcare is the Uber for nurse staffing
Describing it as the equivalent of Uber but focused on filling unexpected shortages in nurses, five-year old Gale Healthcare is helping solve a critical need at predominantly long-term care units.
The comparison with Uber comes because facility managers can use the software to order a nurse if they’re short staffed, just like they would when needing a ride. Tampa-based Gale Healthcare has more than 25,000 nurses in its system, adding roughly 275 a week. The company had $100 million in annualized revenue at the end of 2020, with $200 million projected annualized revenue for the end of this year.
