About 865 Academies

The 865 Academies program operates career-themed academies at Knox County high schools to provide students at all grade levels with work-based learning opportunities.

Guaranteed Student Experiences (GSEs) give students hands-on exposure to careers in their chosen pathway, including Industry Experiences (similar to field trips), Job Shadows, and Capstone Projects.

Currently, 2,077 GSEs are needed in technology-related pathways with a focused gap of 152 Job Shadows and Capstones in four academies focused on Coding, Cybersecurity, and Technology.
