Electro-Active Technologies selected as winner in this year’s “TechConnect Innovation Awards”

Electro-Active Technologies Inc. is one of 90 winners of this year’s “TechConnect Innovation Awards.”

The Knoxville-based start-up, which we spotlighted in this August 2018 article on, has developed a modular system capable of waste conversion and hydrogen production that reduces cost and increases sustainability. The company was co-founded by Alex Lewis and Abhijeet Borole, and it has been a participant in the “Energy Mentor Network” operated by the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council with support from Launch Tennessee.

The TechConnect winners represent about 15 percent of the nominations received and were selected based on the potential positive impact the submitted technology will have on a specific industry sector. Innovations were submitted from global academic technology transfer offices, early stage companies, Small Business Innovative Research grant awardees, and government and corporate research laboratories.

The 90 recipients will have booths during the upcoming “TechConnect World Innovation Conference & Expo” June 17-19 in Boston.
