DOE selects UT-San Antonio to lead cybersecurity manufacturing initiative
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced last week that the University of Texas – San Antonio (UTSA) will lead its newest big manufacturing institute, this time focused on the issue of cybersecurity.
UTSA’s President is Taylor Eighmy, a former Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement at another UT – the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. With that background, it’s not a surprise that one of the key partners in the new Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII) is Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
According to last week’s announcement, ORNL will bring is world-leading expertise in advanced manufacturing to the table along with two other DOE facilities – Idaho and Sandia National Laboratories.
