DOE issues 40-year look at impact of fundamental research
With a holiday next week and many people probably taking a few days of vacation, we wanted to provide some useful reading compliments of the U.S. Department of Energy. It is a just released report titled “A Remarkable Return on Investment in Fundamental Research.” Among those cited as research sources for the document were Michelle Buchanan, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Deputy Director; Jim Roberto, recently retired Associate Lab Director for S & T Partnerships; and Steve Zinkle, formerly of ORNL and now with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
