DigDog launches beta test of app focused on dogs owners and their pets

An app first unveiled in February at the annual “What’s the Big Idea 48-Hour Launch” event in Knoxville and described in this follow-up article on teknovation.biz is taking the next step with a beta test.

Lauren McNamara, who conceived the idea for DigDog, held a launch party on Thursday night at the Bearden Beer Market for the beta version that is available here. She says this first release has limited features – the ability to upload photos and create a profile.

“I’m shooting for a full-feature launch in November,” she says.

DigDog is a social networking app designed to help dog owners and their pets connect. In our June teknovation.biz article, McNamara said the app can be used for everything from finding the right dogs for breeding, companionship, adoption or just a playdate to being a tool for individuals to connect with fellow pup enthusiasts.

She plans to launch the fully-developed app with a rollout in Knoxville. That will allow McNamara to secure valuable input from users before she seeks outside investment capital to launch a national rollout.

The start-up was featured last week on WBIR-TV in Knoxville. Here’s a link to the video.
