DEIC Accelerate accepting out-of-state applicants for upcoming cohort

Dominion Energy Innovation Center’s (DEIC) Accelerate program is now accepting applications for its next cohort, and non-Virginia companies are eligible.

The program is designed for start-up companies that provide a sustainable solution for Dominion Energy and its customers or communities across the Commonwealth. While preference is given to companies based in Virginia, cohort members will be accepted from anywhere in the U.S. “We are looking for companies with functional products (that are) ideally post-revenue/pre-Series A,” DEIC states on the webpage. Solution categories highlighted by DEIC partners as particularly interesting include:

  • Smart city/smart community technology;
  • Technologies related to renewable natural gas;
  • Technologies related to electric vehicle charging and grid connections;
  • Sustainable packing or plastics innovations; and
  • Technologies or process improvements related to building envelope materials

Participating companies must be able to commit to spending two to three hours a week on the program during the duration. DEIC plans to have two in-person meetings during the program, although participants are welcome to spend as much time working at the space as they would like.
