David Cummings writes about negative roadmaps
They are "what you’re not going to do in the future."
Ever heard the term “negative roadmap”? We had not until David Cummings, Founder of Atlanta Tech Village and also Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta Ventures, wrote about the concept in this column from his blog.
He says that “a negative roadmap tells you what you’re not going to do in the future.” Explaining that “a negative roadmap is complementary to the normal roadmap,” Cummings writes, “It’s a way to document things that are not going to happen in the product or things that are going to be removed from the product. Adding a negative roadmap to the mix is another exercise in aligning the team around what is not going to happen.”
