Crescent Startup Community to open in late spring in Greenville, SC
Phase 1 involves repurposing a former 56,000-square-foot Pepsi bottling plant.
The Upstate Business Journal reports that the first phase of Crescent Startup Community, a large-scale, mixed-use innovation district located on Poinsett Highway north of Greenville, should open in late spring.
As previously reported, plans for the seven-acre property that housed a Pepsi-Cola bottling plant at one time include three additional buildings, each approximately 50,000 square feet. The former 56,000-square-foot Pepsi bottling plant will become an innovation center called Crescent One that will be managed by Flywheel, a company that designs and operates innovation centers for start-ups. It will be the anchor tenant for the building, taking 23,000 square feet of space that will include:
- Forty private office suites;
- Several co-working areas;
- A large event space;
- Seminar rooms;
- Indoor and outdoor social common spaces; and
- A fitness center operated by Fitness with a View.
The remainder of the building will be occupied by start-ups or complementary tenets that are service providers to startups, including Furman University’s Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
