Covenant Health opens new South Knoxville campus

Medical services will open in phases to the public starting in March 2023, and all services will be available to patients by May 2023.

Covenant Health is bringing convenient care to the people of South Knoxville and Seymour with Covenant Health South.

Located at 7625 Chapman Highway, the new campus houses:

  • Covenant Health Urgent Care, which will serve patients seven days a week
  • Covenant Health Diagnostics, providing state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the highest quality imaging for better detection and offering a discounted imaging program
  • Covenant Therapy Centers, providing physical, occupational, and orthopedic therapy for back and neck pain, arthritis management, and more
  • Southern Medical Group, providing primary care services
  • Fort Sanders Women’s Specialists, providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care
  • Knoxville Heart Group, providing cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation services
  • East Tennessee Nephrology, providing chronic kidney disease management

Area leaders cut the ribbon on the new Covenant Health South campus.“Covenant Health is on a mission to bring the right care, at the right time, in the right place to the people of East Tennessee. We’re expanding our facilities, enhancing our technology and proactively investing in services and resources that provide high-quality care to local communities throughout our region,” Covenant Health President and CEO Jim VanderSteeg said at a press conference Friday.

The facility totals 47,346 square feet including a community room and the potential for future expansion. Free parking also is available on the campus

“There’s a lot of energy in this part of town. It’s palpable,” Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon said. “South Knoxville is growing. It’s growing because of intentional investments in people, places, connectivity, the outdoors, and more. But none of that matters unless residents have access to health care. The bottom line is that high-quality health care is linked to a higher quality of life, and that’s what’s needed in all corners of our community. I want to thank Covenant for all the investments here at Covenant Health South and also across our city.”

Medical services will open in phases to the public starting in March 2023, and all services will be available to patients by May 2023.
