CO.LAB, two Memphis accelerators win SBA grants
Chattanooga’s CO.LAB and two other Tennessee start-up accelerators were among 88 programs across the country winning $50,000 grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The announcement was made on Tuesday at the first-ever “White House Demo Day” in Washington.
The grants are designed to support regional entrepreneurial growth in underserved areas, both in terms of demographics and access to capital.
The other two Tennessee winners were Memphis-based – ZeroTo510, operated by Memphis Bioworks Foundation, and the Start Co. Integration Accelerator. The latter is a two-time winner, having been selected last year. The 2014 class also included the Cumberland Business Incubator in Crossville and Jumpstart Foundry in Nashville.
