Cleantech takes a big leap in the South with two announcements
It was a “one-two Cleantech punch” on Friday when we received two different announcements about developments in the all-important sector in the South.
First, Antonio Montoya sent us a news release announcing that his organization – Rocket Hatch – was joining with the Alabama Center for Sustainable Energy, Fortnum Capital and Cleantech Open to host Alabama’s first accelerator for high-growth start-ups specializing in clean technologies and services. It will be held in the summer of 2015 in Huntsville. For more information, read the news release (CleantechAcceleratorAnnouncement).
Then, a few hours later, we received an announcement that NG1 Technologies of Olive Branch, MS had won the “2014 Cleantech Open National Accelerator” and the grand prize of cash and in-kind services valued at $200,000. If you know your geography, Olive Branch is just across the Tennessee-Mississippi border. Click here for that announcement.
