Cisco plans major upgrades to Webex virtual platform
In a recent article, WRAL TechWire reports that Cisco is upping the ante in the virtual meeting provider wars, unveiling numerous additions to its Webex product including phone linkage to what the tech giant says includes “any mobile device.”
The changes come in response to fierce competition from Zoom, Microsoft’s Teams and other providers in the days of COVID-19 mandated social distancing and work-from-home requirements by companies around the world. Money spent on virtual conferencing services has skyrocketed from around $12 billion in 2019 with spending estimated to reach around $42 billion by 2027, according to Fortune Business Insights.
