Chattanooga technology visionary to be honored in June
Chattanooga’s Joe Ferguson is clearly a visionary. The Chair of EPB, the city’s utility famous for deploying the infrastructure that allowed Chattanooga to claim the “Gig City” title, is being honored in June as the “2018 Chattanooga Area Manager of the Year.”
In addition to his long service on the EPB board, Ferguson was the inaugural President of The Enterprise Center where he championed high-speed rail service between Chattanooga and Atlanta. He also helped launch Advanced Vehicle Systems that made some of the country’s first battery-powered, electric buses. More recently, Ferguson has been one of the champions of the growing relationship between EPB, the city, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
The recognition occurs June 6. You can read the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce release for more details (Joe Ferguson Honor).
