Chattanooga hosting “Reverse Pitch” focused on gigabit applications

Reverse Pitch 2017Now, here’s a post-Valentine’s Day sweetheart of an opportunity for entrepreneurs and software developers!

Several Chattanooga organizations, led by US Ignite, have joined forces to host “Reverse Pitch 2017” on February 15 with at least $40,000 on the table to help create apps that further leverage investments in the city’s gigabit network.

Other sponsors and partners for the event, which runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the fifth floor of The Edney Innovation Center, are The Enterprise Center, CO.LAB, EPB, Chattanooga Public Library, and Mozilla.

The three challenges that will be outlined during the event are:

  • Creation of an accessible interface and documentation for users of LOLA software so that it can be seamlessly integrated among diverse infrastructure access points, hardware and cloud services. Ideal applicants will have experience with audio, video and networking equipment, understanding basic sound and lighting setup and the ability to generate comprehensive documentation of a process.
  • Creation of a cloud software application that leverages a SDN sliced network for transmitting encrypted telehealth services and data, connecting EPB residential subscribers and participating health care providers directly without traversing the wider internet. Ideal applicants will be able to architect technical systems, bringing advanced networking, video conferencing and IoT device technology together to deliver healthcare services on a next generation network.
  • Creation an on-line experience that helps customers navigate the complexities of available linear and OTT Packages and based on their viewing preferences recommend the best Package(s) to meet their viewing and budgetary needs. Ideal applicants will have experience developing custom web applications, and a deep understanding of the user experience mapping process to create the ideal product.

The $40,000 will be available to implement winning ideas over the next several months. More details
