CBI to host workshop on federal renewable energy grants

Farmers, ranchers and rural small business representatives are invited to the upcoming workshop on applying for federal grant that supports renewable energy products.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) promotes rural economic development by assisting rural business to become more energy efficient. Grant funds can cover up to 25 percent of eligible projects.
The Cumberland Business Incubator will host a workshop on applying for the grant. Representatives of Lenoir City-based ARiES Energy will prepare grant applications for those interested.
The workshop will be held Thursday, April 3 from 5:30-7:00pm at the Cumberland Business Incubator, 2569 Cook Road in Crossville.
In addition to learning about the grant application process, participants will learn about gasification technology, solar PV technology and energy efficient building features such as LED lighting.
