CAR hosting webinar featuring Toyota Ventures
For start-ups in the mobility sector, an upcoming webinar co-sponsored by the Michigan-based Center for Automotive Research (CAR) might be of interest.
CAR is joining with Toyota Ventures to host the webinar at 1 p.m. EDT August 29. CAR Chief Executive Officer Carla Bailo will moderate the session featuring Jim Adler, Founding Managing Director and Board of Directors member at Toyota Ventures, and Lisa Coca, Climate Fund Partner with the venture firm.
Toyota established its first standalone venture capital firm in 2017 to invest in early stage start-ups focused on artificial intelligence, robotics, mobility, and autonomy. In 2021, the firm expanded its investment thesis to also include smart cities, digital health, fintech, materials, energy, and carbon neutrality solutions with the launch of two additional $150 million funds: Toyota Ventures Frontier Fund and Toyota Ventures Climate Fund.
