Campbell succeeds Biddanda at AccelNow

AccelNowPicAccelNow, the Northeast Tennessee start-up accelerator, has a new Executive Director.

John Campbell, a long-time friend, took over the leadership post from Kanishka Biddanda, a Knoxville native we recently profiled in a three-part series on teknovation.biz. The transition was effective at the start of October.

Campbell, who is a proud alumnus of the University of Tennessee, has a long history in city management in two of the region’s cities – Johnson City for 22 years including 17 as City Manager and, more recently, Kingsport from 2006 until his retirement in July.

He also has been involved in economic development initiatives throughout his career. Prior to taking the Kingsport post, Campbell led NETWORKS, a regional partnership that includes Bluff City, Bristol, Kingsport, and Sullivan County.

We caught-up with Campbell last night at the “RAMP Trade Conference and Expo” and will have a more extensive post soon.
