Brookings report examines roles of national labs in economic development
With the annual “Governor’s Conference on Economic and Community Development” starting today in Nashville, we thought this extensive piece on the role of national laboratories in regional economic growth might be of interest. It is based on a report – “Going Local: Connecting the National Labs to their Regions to Maximize Innovation and Growth” – produced by the Brookings Institution. Clearly, Oak Ridge National Laboratory is a critical player in Tennessee’s economy and, for that matter, the economies of other states.
