Brad Smith, former LaunchTN CEO, starts Russell Street Ventures

Brad Smith, former Interim Chief Executive Officer of Launch Tennessee and most recently Director of the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), has launched a new venture firm in Nashville named Russell Street Ventures (RSV).

Announced yesterday, RSV describes itself as “an innovative healthcare firm focused on launching and scaling companies that serve some of the nation’s most vulnerable and underserved patient populations.” It’s a space Smith knows well, not only from his days at CMMI, but also as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aspire Health, a company that he launched along with former Senator Bill Frist.

The news release announcing RSV listed seven others beyond Smith who are involved and made this point: “RSV will be sharing additional details on its new ventures over the coming months. Individuals or organizations interested in contacting RSV to discuss potential ideas or ventures can email contact@russellstreetventures.com” or visit the firm’s website.
