Bowie updates us on Barboards’ progress

Barboards logoWe recently ran into Michael Bowie of Barboards, runner-up in the “Fall Vol Court” competition and a finalist in the “What’s the Big Idea” 48-hour launch earlier this year.

As readers may recall, Bowie’s idea is to fill a void vacated by beer distributors as it relates to beverage coasters in bars and restaurants. He believes his idea is very applicable for businesses where beverage coasters turn into leads for advertisers.

We asked about the company’s progress, and Bowie sent us pictures of the current coaster that he has been distributing.

Barboards - Other Side

BBBS Barboards“Being a Big Brother myself, the ‘Man Up’ side was donated to BBBS (Big Brothers Big Sisters) for their ‘Man Up’ campaign,” Bowie said. These barboards have been distributed to Doc’s Grille, Suttree’s High Gravity Tavern, Curious Dog, Cotton Eyed Joe, and Jig & Reel.

“I encourage you to engage with the “ten.knox.tn” link,” Bowie says. “It’s a clever way of capturing demographic and contact information of everyone who engages with the coaster.”
